Tips and Suggestions

  • To make a lighter calorie version, use lite ingredients such as lite Cool Whip and reduced fat cream cheese.
  • We used 2% milk too. but if you prefer a thicker filling, I have read that some people have omitted the milk entirely with good results.
  • Make your own Graham Crust. I saw this tip on All Recipes and it sounded really yummy: Make a Nutter Butter crust (use 24 crushed Nutter Butter cookies and 5 TBS. of butter mixed together & pressed into bottom and sides of a pie plate.
  • To add an extra delicious layer, brush melted chocolate on the Graham crust before spooning in the peanut butter mixture. I've heard some people enjoy the premade Oreo crust.

Can You Freeze This Pie?

This peanut butter pie does freeze and thaw well. Make sure you cover the slices of the pie you want to freeze with plastic wrap, or store them in a air tight freezer-safe container. Or use a Fresh Saver and just seal the bag (not vacuum). In the freezer, the pie will be good up to two months. Thaw it overnight in the fridge, or let it warm up slightly at room temperature and enjoy it very cold.
